Hey Everybody,

Another process described in the course Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere is the data life cycle. Yup, even data has a life cycle. The stages of the data life cycle are:

  • Plan - plan out what data you need to find and how to find it

  • Capture - gather the data

  • Manage - clean and organize the data you’ve collected

  • Analyze - delve into your data and find conclusions that effectively answer the problem

  • Archive - store the data in a safe space in case you or others want to look back at it for future projects

  • Destroy - eventually, you have to destroy the data because it may store private information about others

Just like a butterfly, data is “birthed,” eventually dies, and may even lead to the creation of new data.

Your Completely Alive Friend,

Noah
